Love will keeps us warm during a ‘loveshoot’ in the snow, this is what Dennis and Sandra should have been thinking when reacting to my posting on facebook in which I asked for a nice couple for an outdoor loveshoot in the cold winter. In addition to my portfolio I was looking for a nice couple to pose in front of my camera in a beautiful landscape of snow-white But I needed some snow for that! The end of 2012 and the beginning of 2013 was a period that there was not a lots of snow…till that weekend….
Because of having an appointment in Vlagtwedde (Groningen), I also immediately made an appointment for the photo shoot with this lovely couple. We were only hoping that it kept on snowing that weekend and we should have some white frost on the trees, because they were already predicting thaw for the end of January. For almost only those two weeks we had snow in Holland. The years before we had much more snow and much longer as well.
Friday afternoon we arrived in Vlagtwedde and it was still beautiful white, so I couldn’t stay inside behind windows. I HAD to go outside to make some pictures of the landscape. The frost on the trees was so brilliant.
We met very early on a Saturday morning to use the wonderful morning light and quietness. Unfortunately it was a little more cloudy than I expected, but we made a lots of nice pictures and had a lot of fun. Of course we couldn’t miss the fight with snowballs and snow blowing during the photo shoot, even though the snow was not from real good “snow ball trowing” quality.
